Taihe Wood Atelier 太和木作 is a Beijing-based atelier specializing in Chinese classical furniture, traditional woodworking, restoration, and collectible objects.

Rooted in the traditions of Ming- and Qing-style furniture, the atelier is dedicated to preserving Jingzuo (京作), the traditional Beijing school of imperial furniture craftsmanship.

Our work brings together traditional furniture making, research and design, restoration, and the study of historic Chinese furniture. The atelier has participated in the restoration of historic furniture and interiors at the Palace Museum, including projects associated with the Qianlong Garden.

Tradition in the present.

Drawing on the forms, materials, joinery, and craftsmanship of Chinese classical furniture, we create and curate furniture and collectible objects that reflect the refinement of China’s woodworking heritage.

Through restoration, craftsmanship, and continued study, we seek to preserve the legacy of Chinese furniture while introducing its enduring aesthetic and cultural value to new generations of collectors and audiences worldwide.
